FN Gathering in Yogyakarta
More than 60 Fotografer.net members (FNers) of Yogyakarta attended gathering held on Sunday (11/2), at Yogyakomtek 2008 (computer exhibition) arena in Jogja Expo Center, Yogyakarta. Some FNers from other cities, such as Solo, Jakarta and Bali, partcipated as well. Even a "special MC" was "imported" from Jakarta to make the gathering more cheerful and warm. Our two fellow FNers from Yogya shared their experience in photographing, partcularly on photojournalism and story photos. Prior to the sharing session, a "fun" photo contest was held for all participants and 10 booby prizes were provided by Fotografer.net (FN) administrators. Kristupa Saragih as one of the administrators said, around 200.000 people had so far joined FN making it the biggest online photography community in Southeast Asia.  farid

First Hunting by Karawang Photographer Community
 
Karawang Photographer Community (KPC) held their first hunting session on Sunday (26/10). It took place in Danau Cipule, Ciampel, Karawang. This place was chosen due to the nature and the fishermen's activities were such an attractive object to be recorded. The hunting session aimed to introduce some interesting places in Karawang that have not been explored yet and to tighten the solidarity among photographers.
The session started from early morning to the daylight, and attended by 15 participants. It was not only attended by members of KPC but alson some participants from Jakarta. Participants said that by taking part in this hunting they could relieve themselves from their daily life. As a response to this positive reaction, KPC will add hunting on their monthly activity. Besides hunting, KPC also plans to organize workshop, tutorial, and discussion as part of their activities. KPC was established on August 2008 and at present has 20 members. Vinsensius B

TPAS VI at the Goddess Island
 The Photographers Adventure Series went to Bali for their sixth adventure. It began on 24th and lasted on 27th of October with the theme "Journey to the Center of the Goddess Island." Twenty-six participants were touring and hunting to various interesting places in Bali. They visited Tukad Unda Klungkung, Bedugul, Tanah Lot, Sanur, Tenganan Village, Taman Ujung, Danau Batur, and Tegal Alang. Ruby Cahyadi

New Models of S-Frame Digital Photo Frames
Sony added two new models to its family of S-Frame digital photo frames, including the company's first 10-inch model. The new 10-inch and 8-inch digital photo frames (models DPF-D100 and DPF-D80) have high-quality SVGA resolution (800 x 600 pixels) LCD screens. They are Sony's first digital photo frames that offer a 4:3 aspect ratio. This aspect ratio eliminates borders around the digital photos and allows pictures to fill up the screen. Photos appear larger on theses frames' displays than digital photo frames with the 16:9 aspect ratio.
According to Koba Kobayashi, marketing director in the Digital Imaging Division at Sony Electronics, these two new models offer a great way to enjoy and share photos. In addition to providing high-quality LCD screens, these models have an advanced image processing feature that quickly decodes and displays images. The digital photo frames will display images that are up to 48 MP or files that are up to 100 MB. The digital photo frames have 200 MB of available capacity. Canon released firmware update version1.0.3 for the EOS 50D. The update corrects a phenomenon in which an image becomes overexposed, corrects a rare phenomenon in which "busy" blinks on the display panel and the shutter cannot be released due to timing of battery installation.
