FBI Shooting at Belinyu

Fotografer Bangka Island (FBI) was once again organizing their hunting session. It went on national holiday, July 20, and took place at Belinyu. At first they wanted to shoot at Toboali. Due to some obstacles, they canceled it and chose Belinyu as their second option. Romodong beach, Penyusuk and Lampu island were their destination.

The first spot was Romodong beach. Having been through two-hour journey, they arrived at this beach. Taking the advantage from the hot weather on the spot, some photographers were shooting IR photography. From Romodong, they moved to Penyusuk beach. Unfortunately, when they got there, rain fell. It made them not to continue their photo session. But some were still photographing. Their last destination was Lampu island. They must transfer there using a fisherman's boat. At the island, they were taking pictures and had a barbeque time as well. Haryadi

A Photo Hunting by FNers of Germany & Netherlands in Stuttgart

Though FN is officially based in Indonesia, some FNers outside Indonesia gathered together in Stuttgart, Germany. They are the FNers who live in Germany and Netherlands. Twenty six photographers were hunting in that city from 25 to 26 of July.

Just like the previous year, they had a problem with time, place and fund. But, through several discussions, this year's hunting could run well. Twenty six was a big number if compared to the usual hunting. Usually, only two to five people join such event.

In 2008, there had been three themes that they brought about: "3 Titik (3 Spots)," "Shadow & Reflection" and "Nightshot." However, to bring it broader and more global, they made only one theme in this year's hunting. It was "Stuttgart in Your Eyes." This theme was applied in three sessions: street, nightshot and strobist. Practically, though it was broader and more global, it was harder for them because most of them do not live in that city.

Nevertheless, they tried hard to find, explore and capture everything new to their eyes. This became the mission of this hunting; they want to inspire every FNer, wherever they live, to keep finding, exploring and capturing every new things in front of them. Lay Kana

Enjoy 3D Images with Naked Eyes

Fujifilm announced the launch of new imaging technology: the "FinePix Real 3D System". The World's first three dimensional (3D) digital imaging system that lets you enjoy three dimensional images without the need to wear special 3D glasses. The FinePix Real 3D system incorporates a 3D digital camera "FinePix Real 3D W1", a 3D picture viewer "FinePix Real 3D V1", and 3D prints.

The Real 3D W1 camera features the newly developed "Real 3D Lens System." To achieve a natural, 3D image, it was necessary to layer together two images, so two Fujinon lenses were installed. A 3x optical zoom, deemed difficult to achieve in 3D photography, is also possible. Moreover, the "RP (Real Photo) Processor 3D" synchronizes data passed to it by the two lenses and two CCD sensors, to determine shooting conditions such as focus, brightness and tonality to instantaneously blend this information into a single symmetrical image, for both stills and movies.

This camera also brings new possibilities in 2D photography. You can really take advantage of the fact that this is actually two digital cameras in one. The "Advanced 2D Mode" uses Dual Capture simultaneous shooting which lets users take two different shots simultaneously by pressing the shutter once. With "Tele+Wide Shooting", it is possible to take a closeup photo of the subject and, at the same time, a photo with a wider span - just by changing the settings of the two lenses. With "Colour Mode" Dual Shooting users can take photos of the same scene with different color tonalities.

This is a good-looking camera, with cutting-edge style. The sleek metal sliding cover which protects the two lenses is specially formed so that it can be firmly gripped with both hands. The newly developed 2.8-inch Real 3D LCD monitor displays natural and beautiful 2D and 3D images, enabling you to compose and playback your pictures easily. The FinePix Real 3D W1 will be available from September 2009. Pricing will be announced nearer to the date of the launch. dpreview.com
