Fujifilm First 3-D Digital Camera
It has been a few months since Fujifilm wowed attendees of the Photokina trade show with a peek at a prototype 3-D camera. The first thing you need to know about this new 3-D technology: no goofy glasses required.
This FinePix Real 3-D System is a digital camera fitted with dual lenses approximately five inches apart; much like human eyes. It has dual sensors, allowing each lens to capture stills from a slightly different position to provide the basis for the 3-D image. This prototype of this camera has almost a size of a brick, but the actual product will probably be more compact.
However, the product itself will not appear until late 2009. Hence, there is no word yet from Fujifilm on pricing. nytimes.com | cindy

Motorola/Kodak Motozine ZN5: Not a Camera Phone but a Phone Camera
A camera phone is not the same thing as a phone camera. Camera phone is a phone with a camera tacked on. Why cannot a cell-phone be a real digital camera? Now it can!

The shutter button is in its top right edge; you can depress it halfway to pre-focus and press it fully to capture image. It has 350MB internal memory and 1GB card included. Its 5MP resolution defeats the image quality of 8-, 9- and even 10-MP camera phones. You can download your photos to your PC using a USB cable or view them on a TV using the included cable.
Its control dials summon controls like Flash (On, Off, Redeye or Automatic), Low Light mode (On, Off), Focus (Landscape, Macro, Automatic) and White Balance (Tungsten, Fluorescent, Daylight, Cloudy, Automatic).
Kodak's participation in this project: image quality, built-in photo-editing software and the Share button. nytimes.com | cindy

Unfortunately, it did not really catch on with the masses, since the disposable ones are much more convenient that you do not need to bother with charging them once they are exhausted. It does not contain any cadmium, mercury and PVC, and is packaged with recycled materials to minimize its carbon footprint. Fuji claims that this battery exceeds most competitive alkaline batteries in its class. ubergizmo.com | cindy
