KPC Formed Its Board
On Sunday, February 8, 2009, Karawang Photographer Community (KPC) officially formed the board of the community. This gathering was held at Telaga Resto KIIC Karawang. Twelve members were elected as the board, Fadilah Zaenal, Eddy Husain, and Danding as the senior members of the community, Cornelius Rahmadi Witono as the Chairman, I Gusti Made Agus Setiawan and Antonius Kristianto Hidayat as the Vice Chairman, Sandhy Yulianto as the Secretary, Henry Yoshida and Ratri Ardianto as the Treasurer, and Tom Parluhutan Sinagabariang, Hardhian, as well as Thomas Widyarsono as the Public Relation Officers. Not just arranging the board, the gathering was packed with photo hunting session with three models participated. DSLR Market Rising, Pocket Falling
CIPA (Camera and Imaging Products Association) had counted the result of digital cameras market in 2008; it is 119,757,000 units - grew 19.3% compared to the previous year. Of that amounts, 9,687,000 units of them are DSLR - grew 29.7% compared to last year.
Unlike pocket cameras which is predicted to be falling in 2009 and 2010, DSLR market will arise 6.8% compared to 2008; it is 10,349,000 units. While in 2010, 11,242,000 units will be sold and 12, 029,000 units will be too in 2011.
Because of the DSLR market rising, lens market will arise too. In 2011, it is predicted that 19,151,000 units will be sold. In 2008, 15,655,000 units were sold.
For pocket cameras, its market will be falling 1.3% in 2009, and for the next two years, its market growth is predicted will be maximally 2.4%. bjp-online.com

More Innovations on Digital Cameras in 2009

British Wildlife Photography Awards: Exposing the Nature of UK
A photography competition is opened to expose the wealth and diversity of British Isles - forests, urban environment and wild species. It is opened to photographers of all nationalities practicing in UK - from April 22 to July 31 2009.
There are seven categories offered: Animal Portraits, Animal Behaviour, Urban Wildlife, Hidden Britain, Coast and Marine, Wildlife in My Locality and Habitat. To participate, you can send your work through e-mail or via post. The total prize is £10,000 for winners in three award categories: adult, young, community.
