Jogja' s Joy of Canon-FN' s Gathering and Workshop

Gathering by Canon and Fotografer.net (FN) in Yogyakarta ran well on March 7, 2009. Smoothly and joyous, about a hundred FN members/FNers overcrowded the Payu-payu Café & Resto. The participants of Hunting Exploring Jogja directed by Edy Singo, who had been in 23 hours of traveling from Jakarta to Jogja, took part in this gathering. There were also Johntefon, the master of digital imaging, and other Fners from Yogyakarta, Jakarta, Semarang, Surabaya, Bandung and Cilegon.

The program took place from 6.00 to 11.00 pm and was guided by our fellow Fner from Yogyakarta, Eka "Meneer" Rachmat as the MC. Stephanus Hanie and Kurniadi Widodo contributed their knowledge and experience through a photo sharing session. Remigius Budi Isworo gave out some "secrets" about FN - from reviews to further plans. The garthering got more lively when Kristupa Saragih, Gathot Suboroto and Luise sang some songs for the audience.

The day after, March 8, the Workshop on Digital Imaging by Johntefon - as a part of Canon-Fotografer.net Workshop Series - took place at Jogja Plaza Hotel. The workshop held from 9 am to 4 pm was attended by 95 participants from Yogyakarta, Solo, Semarang and Purwokerto. Tony Pongoh, the commissioner of PT Fotografer Net Global, acted as the moderator during the workshop, and Valens Riyadi – administrator of FN – gave a welcoming note in the opening session. Exploring Jogja, from Depok Beach to Alun-Alun

The first day (March 7, 2009) of "Exploring Jogja 2009 Photo Hunting Trip" began with a 23 hours traveling from Jakarta to Yogyakarta. As a result, they who have been in Jogja were the only participants of the first hunting. They do some photographing session in Depok beach and Ratu Boko Temple. The next day, March 8, the schedule to do sunrise hunting in Boko Temple was canceled because of the bad weather. Finally, they moved on to Sundak beach, Gunungkidul, along with three models. Interestingly, they did hunting at night in Purawisata open stage on Ramayana Dancing. With participants from Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Thailand, Bali, Sidoarjo, Solo and Kalimantan, this event put an end to north Alun-alun for another hunting – the preparation and the happening of Garebeg Maulud at Keraton Yogyakarta. Leica S2 will be out soon

Leica S2 DSLR camera that had been leaked last year will be out in the market soon. According to cameramoon. com, the 37.5 MP Leica S2 will be starting to ship summer 2009, while for the pre-production unit will come out this spring. Exploring the Beauty of Ujung Genteng

The seventh edition of the Photographers Adventure Series (TPAS) in the beginning of 2009 was established in Ujung Genteng, Sukabumi. Layers of waterfall, river mouths, seas and beaches; they were pictured through an enthusiastic, fun and enjoyable exploration. This was organized by Lintas Wisata, as the event organizer, from March 6 to 8, 2009. In three days, 20 participants visited Amanda Ratu, enjoyed sunrise at Tanah Lot and Nelayan beach, enjoyed sunset at Cipanarikan beach and had a culinary trip to some spots. "A Million of Candles" Hunting at Borobudur


About 500.000 to a million candles were lighted on in the area of Borobudur Temple, Magelang. Guided by Y.M. Zurmang Drukpa Rinpoche IV and the monks, it was followed by some religious people of some different nationalities.

This had inspired FNers from Semarang to hold the “Millions of Candles” Hunting in Borobudur from March 6 to 9. The participants gathered in the middle of their fusses. They came over in different days; some of them in the first day, and some in the second. Not only from Semarang, were FNers from other towns participating.

The Patiakers' Hunting with a Professional Photographer


Nine participants were taking part in a photo hunting held by the Patiakers (Padang-based photography community) on March 3-4. It took place in Padang and its surrounding.

On the first day, they went to Padang Pariaman, Lembah Anai, Padang Panjang, Singgalang, and Pandai Sikek. Bukittinggi, Tabek Patah, Parambahan, and Batu Taba became the next destination on the second day. No theme for this hunting which is also attended by professional photographer, Muhasrul Zubir.

By having this hunting, the Patiakers’ members had a chance to gather and share their experience and knowledge related to photography. This moment also gave them time to relax and have some fun. The Patiakers itself is a photography community that provide place for photography hobbyists in Padang, Padangpanjang, Pariaman, and Bukittinggi.
